M. Rogan LaBier - Host, The Rude Awakening Show

Rogan is a financial services and technology expert who was deeply involved in the move to online electronic trading. He started out as a proprietary trader and later became a NASDAQ Market Maker, before moving into electronic brokerage operations and later, mergers and acquisitions and capital formation. He has written several books, and numerous articles for financial publications.

His specialty has always been a capacity for deep research; uncovering overlooked or misunderstood value. This, and an abilty to communicate complex ideas in simple language. His awakening began with a competitor’s lawsuit that seemed frivolous at it’s face. Nearly five years and a million dollars later, when the court finally dismissed the case, Rogan was fully informed of just how corrupt the system had become. This experience, combined with a deep understanding of the financial markets, inspired further research. What he discovered shocked him to he core, and he was forever changed. For Rogan, what began as a personal exploration into the nature of money and freedom lead to a rude awakening.

John has been in the securities industry for almost 17 years. Starting out as a Broker on Wall Street, he quickly found his passion on the Compliance side of the industry in the mid 1990’s. He has worked as a Compliance Officer for large Wire houses and NYSE member Clearing Firms. In 2000 he formed a well known S. Florida bond house before moving to Orlando. He moved to the Sales side and became President of an up start clearing firm and quickly grew them from a handful of correspondents to over 75. In 2006 he was elected to the NASD-Business Conduct Committee for District 7 and was also elected to the Florida Securities Dealers Board of Governors. He is an accomplished writer for many national publications and has been quoted in hundreds of press stories. He acquired BDexchange in 2008 and has relationships with nearly every clearing firm and Securities Consultant in the Country.
